Maui and the Sun.

   We have been looking at Maori Myths. One story we read was about  Maui and how he and his brothers slowed the sun down so the days could be longer.

 

 One day a long time ago, Maui and his brothers pulled the sun down. AC

Maui caught the sun to slow it down. VL

Maui and his brothers wanted to capture the sun because he was racing across the sky. RL

I watched the story of Maui and the sun. Maui caught the sun with ropes. AJ

Maui and the Sun.

Maui's brothers said the day was too dark so they are making ropes to slow the sun. They are pulling the ropes. Maui and his brothers said that's better. NM

Maui caught the sun because the days were too short. JF

Maui caught the sun and the sun slowed down. BM

Maui pulled the sun because the night is too long. So he caught the sun. AW

Maui and the sun.

Maui caught the sun because the days were too short and the night was too long. WW

Maui caught the sun, and he beat the sun. OM

Maui and his brothers were catching the sun so they could eat lunch. HH

Maui and his brothers put the flax on the sun. IJ

Maui and his brothers captured the sun with ropes.

Maui caught the sun, then the sun slowed down. KJ

Maui looked for the hole to find the sun and captured the sun. AA 

Maui and his brothers put ropes on the sun to make the sun slow down. OB

Maui and his brothers caught the sun. They used flax. CA

Travel Wise Road Safety.

We are always learning about how to be safe when crossing the road. Today, Liz from Travel Wise came to talk to us about road safety. We got to play a game like Snakes and Ladders, where we got to move forwards if we landed on a space that said we were being 'road safe', or backwards if we weren't.

We love learning about how to keep safe!
